Peoples’ Ink member, Tim O’Neal, has had a work accepted for publication.
A note from Tim regarding his piece and its publication:
My short story, The Shadow Puppet, has been published in Apeiron Review, an online journal based in Philadelphia. It’s about a mother raising a son who was born without the sense of touch, and her struggle to overcome her fears for his safety and allow him to become an independent person.
This will be my first published piece, and I have The Peoples’ Ink to thank. I submitted the story to several journals with no success before putting it through a workshop. The group gave me critical feedback that made it much more compelling and ultimately publishable. Parts weren’t believable, other important details were glossed over and not fully explored, and the ending didn’t work. I made some changes and was finally successful. I’m grateful to everyone who read the story and gave me such constructive feedback.
